EVERYTHING STARTS WITH ADAM, 100 000 YEARS AGO

This part is based on DNA tests and the archieved materials

Great forefather Adam has established the present population approx. 100 000 years ago, his matherland was the Central Africa. Of course Adam wasn´t only one man at that age, but he was especial personality and his children have alived till this time. He was our great forefather. We are going to trace the journey of our ancestors, we will call them forefathers and we will trace through the male line of the present Ubry families. We will call them as forefathers till the end of  the 1st century, after that we will call them by their correct names.

Our forefathers went from the Central Africa to North-East, they went to South-West Asia approx. 45 000 years ago.

They lived in troops and they were able to make a fire. They made primitive tools (hand-exe, combs) and weapons (stings, gaff and primitive knifes). They hunted big bears. Our forefather can use a basic language, he started to bury died people and they put the tools to their tombs. Only 5000 years lasted to get him to Central Asia.  At that time women kept the family. Basic work partition between man and woman started. Men hunted animals and women picked up the berries, prepared food. Their properties inherited by female line. Our forefather went to North Asia 35 000 years ago, then he went to Europe, where he still stayed 10 000 years ago, when the ice age ended.  The mammoth died approx. at that time.

The end of the ice age changed the landscape, woody landscape was in a northern tundra – big northern animals died and the current animals have born – deer, rabbit etc. New animals were faster than previous animals and they had less meat. Forefather started to use bow, fish and domesticate animals (dog, goat, pig).

The journey of our ancestors to the current place of our current clan is placed below (map of migration for Y-DNA Haplogroup R1b)

haplogroup R1b1 is allocated to Kelts, so You Mr. Ubry are the descendent of the old Kelts.

The current Haplogroup R1b is mainly in Western Europe, incl. England, Ireland, a part of Spain and Portugal. Mainly it is placed to Western Ireland, where is frequency approx. 100 % of the population.

Approx. in 8 000 years B.C.  the first settlement of the Ireland started, approx. in 300 years B.C. Kelts settled the Ireland and their cultural and political control started. Our forefather moved to Ireland at that time. In ancient Ireland families – landowners – had the power. Other families were subordinated to them.  Because of the power families decreasing the wars with other neigbour places started and new small kingdoms were established. Based on the legend Comac Cas  (* ? - +129), the second son of Ailill Aulomma (Oilliol Olum) – the ancienit king of Munster, controlled the place call Clare (in North-Western Ireland). All his descends were grouped to Dál gCais (or Dal Cais) clans, which had the roots from Cormac Cas. „Dál“ seems the part or the share to „Cas“, so Dál gCais or Dalcassians clans. Clan O'Briens, with who we have the same origin, it was proved by DNA tests), was the main Dalcassians clan. We will not write about the war success of our ancestors, the list have would be too long. We will inform you only about Eochaidh Ball-dearg, who had accepted the baptism by St. Patrick, the Irish patron. New religion – Christianism – started in Ireland. It caused the main situation in our family history. Our Irish forefathers were catholic.

St. Patrick, the Irish patron

The other one of our ancestors is Molua Lothar, who has set up the religion in Killaloe, co. Clare, the Brian Boru´s birthplace (the most important man from O´Brien clan).

During next period Irish men fronted to many Viking´s incursions. They terrorized and flaked off the local people. You can see green places in map of the Ireland from year 950, where are marked the Viking´s strong-holds. They organised thein attacks from these places.

The map from year 950, where are marked the places controlled by Vikings.

But one man – our forefather -  has faced them, he was Irish national hero Brian Boru, the son of MACLORCAIN, the king Thomond  (? - 951).

Mathúin, the king´s son of Dál gCais clan,  was killed by Vikings. His brother Brian - the king´s son of Dál gCais clan,  took vengeanced on Nortmen´s king Imar, who ruled over the Limerck. Brian became to be a king in year 978, he was named as árd rí, the highst Irish king, in year 1002. It was probably his the biggest success. He stopped the Uí Néill dynasty´s supremacy and he was the first man, who put the Ireland together. In 1013 the Nortmen returned back and the most important battle about the royalty started in Big Friday in 1014 in Clontarf. Brian Bor won that battle, but he was killed by runaway Viking´s soldier. The Ireland was felt to the small kingdoms and it cause that the English-Normans started to subjugated the Ireland. Brian Boru as the highst king of Ireland ruled from his palace in Killaloe. His son, Donough, lived in fort Dromoland, the one of the most famous baron castle in Ireland. That castle was a home of O´Briens ancestors, Inchiquin barons, who were one of not too much simple gael families, king´s blood and linear descends of Brian Boroimhe (Boru).

O'Brien – the surname origin

O´Brien, O´Briain in Irish language, is derived from the first name Brian. The meaning of that name isn´t still Clar. It could seem „raven“, but more probably is that it could be derived from the word Orion, from Keltic language, which contents the bre element, meaning „hill“ or „high place“. The name should mean „grand“ or „important“. Although the basic meaning isn´t still Clar, the historical surname origin is absolutely Clar. It seems the Brian Boru´s descend (Brian holdù), the highst Irish king in 1002 and the winner of the battle in Clontarf in 1014. During that time the Keltics added the something like present surname to their first names. They wanted to show their clanship, nationality. O'Brien, deriving from the ancestor´s name, or Ui Brien, deriving from father´s name, so from Brian.

The first owner of O´Brien surname was Donogh Cairbre O'Brien, the son of the king Munster, Donal Mor. After that his descends were divided to many stems, incl. O´Briens Aherlow, O'Briens Waterford, O'Briens Arra in North Tipperary, and O'Briens Limerick, where the surname is hold on baron Pubblebrien honour (from this O´Brien stem became our forefathers). Today the name is the sixth frequented in Ireland, wide in the whole country, with unique concentration in individual places like in origin country, in place called Clare. Our forefathers hold that proud name approx. till 17th century. That century was the hardest in our ancestor lives.  It was the age of hard abatement of a Catholics in Ireland and they were Catholics.

At the beginning of 17th century, after Ulster´s earls emigration, Jakub I. Exhorted the Scottish protestants to migration to Northern Ireland. Irish Rosing in Ulster caused the massacre of newcoming colonists in 1641.

After that in 1649 in Dublin Oliver Cromwell landed. He wasn´t not only conquistador, but a revenger. He wasn´t really Barbarous, Irish people remembered not only his barbarousness, but hard colonization afther their loss. Poor population was safed by Cromwell´s charge and soldiers could emigrate. About 30 000 people emigrated. The property of the catholic aristocracy was confiscated and their lands were given to protestants. Basically it was the property and power replacement from Catholics to protestants. It cause the second emigration, when our forefathers could left their Irish birthplace and moved to West Europe.

Oliver Cromwell

The punitive laws from year 1695 were the last hit for Irish Catholics. These laws were accepted by protestant´s aristocracy, which wanted to increase their power. They enjoined the Catholics to buy and own the lands, tutor their children to their religion, be in army and navy or work in justice. Irish culture, music and schools were enjoined too. That´s why our ancestors went from Ireland to the kontinent, where  FRANCISKUS CAROLI O`BRIEN  married with  Marie Margaretha Eckel from KÖNIGSBACHU, it was in 1702.

Jun 6th, 1702 – in religion validity the reputable adult Caroli Francisci Obrin belonging to clan from Limerick in Ireland got married with the reputable widow Margaretou  Storekin

.

How has the O´Brien surname changed to Ubry? At that time people didn´t own their identity cards, that´s why the pastor written them under the name, which he listened. After the O´Brien entry to the continent thein surname´s spelling has changed. There were these variants - OUBRIEN, OBRIN and UBRI. After migration to Melnik UBRI surname was changed to Czech UBRY. The O´Briens clanship is based on DNA test results.
