BLAZON OF ARMS: Gules, a sword praper,
the point in base, placed in pale
and between two staples adosse
argent.
Interpretation: Gules (red) symbolizes Magnanimity and
Military Fortitude:
Argent (white), Peace and Sincerity.
CRESC: Issuing from a crowned helmet, five ostrich
plumes praper.

UBRY was the surname
borne by a noble Polisch family who was a sept of the great clan Cholewa.
The ancestral seat of this house was located in the district af Plock, where their existence was
documented since 1496. A
branch of this
house settled in Prusia and Galicia Spain, where in
1782 and 1825 they obtained confirmation of their noble status. Thera is record of a tombstonedating
from1638,which belonged to Jedrzej
Ubry z Mogilnicy, who
was the canon of Poznaň,
Plack and Pultusa. A
descendant of this house, Jakob Ubry,
held the position of secretary of King Wladyslaw
IV. Later, he was appointed standard-bearer of Dobrzyn.
Two other members of this family. Michael and Waleryan Ubry, were signatories for the district of Gostyn,
at the election of King Jan III. Johann Ubry was
registered amongst the aristocracy of Galicia in 1782.
